\nThe mouthguard is most useful during the practice of contact sports such as rugby, martial arts, boxing, basketball, football and hockey. Its purpose is to cushion any trauma and distribute them in a broader surface, thus dispersing the impact forces, safeguarding both the teeth and the mandibular temporal joint.
\nThe mouthguard can be cleaned in various ways. By using toothpaste (without abrasive particles) or neutral soap and toothbrush, you can immerse it in water and effervescent pads for dentures.
\nIt is good practice to clean the mouthguard after each use, and place it in its container, and then rinse it in water before using it. It is advisable not to use too hot water or heat sources to wash or dry the mouthguard so as not to risk deforming it.” font_size=”lg:18″][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][tm_spacer size=”lg:50″][tm_image border_color=”primary” image=”2764″ lg_spacing=”border_top:4;border_right:4;border_bottom:4;border_left:4″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][tm_image image_size=”custom” align=”center” image=”2967″ image_size_height=”128″ image_size_width=”160″][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][tm_image image_size=”custom” align=”center” image=”2838″ image_size_width=”150″][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row_content_no_spaces”][vc_column offset=”vc_col-lg-4″][tm_box_icon style=”4″ icon_type=”fontawesome5″ icon_fontawesome5=”fa fa-award” overlay_background=”primary” overlay_opacity=”100″ heading=”Award Winning Clinic” text=”Susan Crean Dental & Facial Aesthetics is proud to have won and to have been nominated for various awards” box_shadow=”0 20px 30px #ccc” lg_spacing=”margin_bottom:0″][\/vc_column][vc_column offset=”vc_col-lg-4″][tm_box_icon style=”4″ icon_type=”fontawesome5″ icon_fontawesome5=”far fa-handshake” overlay_background=”primary” overlay_opacity=”100″ heading=”Safe, Relaxing Atmosphere” text=”We are experts dealing with nervous patients, there is no need to fear the dentist anymore” box_shadow=”0 20px 30px #ccc” lg_spacing=”margin_bottom:0″][\/vc_column][vc_column offset=”vc_col-lg-4″][tm_box_icon style=”4″ icon_type=”fontawesome5″ icon_fontawesome5=”fal fa-smile-beam” overlay_background=”primary” overlay_opacity=”100″ heading=”Aesthetic Experts” text=”We can help you achieve the smile that you always dreamed of, contact us today” box_shadow=”0 20px 30px #ccc” lg_spacing=”margin_bottom:0″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” background_color=”primary” lg_spacing=”padding_top:100;padding_bottom:100″][vc_column][vc_row_inner gutter=”xs:30;sm:50;md:80;lg:100″ xs_spacing=”padding_top:30;padding_bottom:30″][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][tm_image border_color=”primary” image=”2700″ lg_spacing=”border_top:4;border_right:4;border_bottom:4;border_left:4″][tm_heading custom_google_font=”” text_color=”secondary” text=”What is Bruxism, Teeth Grinding?” font_size=”lg:36″ line_height=”46px”][tm_spacer size=”lg:30″][tm_heading tag=”div” custom_google_font=”” text_color=”secondary” text=”Bruxism is the involuntary act of gritting teeth and grinding them at night.

One of the first symptoms of bruxism is the difficulty to open your mouth when you wake up. \nAnother distinction has to be made between custom and standard mouthguards. Custom mouthguards are created following the mouth shape and respecting 100% its anatomy. Most of the mouthguards on the market (standard mouthguards ) are characterized by the technology called boil and bite because once heated, can be modelled to customize and then adapt them to any dental arch.
